Join instructors Scott Moore and Vicki Overfelt for an extended weekend retreat in the beauty of the Bridger Mountains range, just outside Bozeman, Montana. We will have the honor of being the first retreat at the new Omstead Retreat Center where we will spend time in extended periods of meditation and movement, engaging in contemplative practices, hiking and walking, and enjoying home-cooked, Ayurvedic, vegetarian meals.

We look forward to gathering together and setting aside time for deep rest and renewal.

Guests will arrive by noon on Thursday, September 12th. The retreat begins at 5. It will finish on Sunday, September 15th at noon.

Mountain Yoga Retreat

Intention

Our intention for this retreat is to offer each participant a supportive environment in which to unwind, rest, and practice generative meditation and gentle movement. Over the course of this retreat, we will connect with nature and each other through sitting and walking meditation and generative, gentle yoga practices. We will also incorporate walks in nature, deep rest, and nourishing food into a wonderful program that will leave you feeling restored to wholeness. Participants will also have the opportunity for one-on-one interviews with the teachers to discuss their personal practice and the experience of the retreat.

Teachers

Salt Lake City Yoga

Vicki Overfelt: Vicki received her Masters of Arts in Education with an emphasis in educational administration from Columbia University, Teachers College. For the past 15 years, Vicki has focused her instruction specifically on the study of stress reduction through the practice of mindfulness and specializes in the delivery of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Vicki received her MBSR training through the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Healthcare, and Society, located at UMASS Medical School, founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979. She has completed the full training path in MBSR, including MBSR in Mind Body Medicine, Practicum in MBSR, Teacher Development Intensive, Individual Supervision in MBSR, and MBSR Certification.

Salt Lake City Yoga

Scott Moore: Scott has a BA in English. He has been teaching yoga and mindfulness for 16 years. Scott believes that yoga is for everyone. He is adept in teaching yoga that promotes mindfulness and gently accommodates for all body types and ability levels. In addition to teaching classes, Scott hosts local and international retreats. One of Scott's passions is Yoga Nidra, a very relaxing form of Self-inquiry, similar to a guided meditation. Some of Scott's recordings are featured in the Insight Timer meditation app. Scott and Vicki  make a great team and regularly offer workshops together. 

 
Mindful Mountain Retreat

The OMstead is an eco-friendly, pagoda-inspired structure designed and built to accommodate mindfulness practitioners in the beautiful mountain environment. There are three floors at the Omstead. The upper floor is the meditation and yoga room with plenty of windows. The second floor is the dormitory with several cozy beds and bathrooms. The bottom floor is the kitchen and extra bathrooms. There is also a lovely deck where we can also sit or practice yoga in nice weather.

Accommodations

You’ll be sleeping in cozy, beautiful, new bunk beds with high-quality, eucalyptus sheets, down-alternative comforter, duvet and fluffy pillow. Each bed will be either a twin or full size. There will be 2 people to a room and each bed will have a reading light and cubby for personal items. There is also a sitting room/lounge to enjoy relaxing. There are plenty of bathrooms and showers to accommodate our group.

Cancellation Policy

You may cancel and receive a tuition refund (without your non-refundable deposit) prior to September 1, 2019. You may also sell or give your spot to someone else in the event that you can't come. If we have a waitlist, we can help you find someone else who may want your spot, however it is not guaranteed.
