20-hr. Yoga Nidra Immersion/Training

Whether you’re a yoga or meditation teacher, educator, parent, therapist, or healer, Yoga Nidra could be a powerful addition to your skill set. By the end of this 20-hr. immersion/training you will have deepened your deep relationship to Self and if you desire you’ll be ready to teach Yoga Nidra.

Join me either virtually through Zoom or in person in person at 21st Yoga in Salt Lake City, Utah (2165 East 2100 South).

You do not need any prior experience with yoga or meditation to attend this. Everyone will receive an audio/video recording of the entire training.

You’ll learn:

  • What is Yoga Nidra and why to practice it

  • Helpful, easy to follow Yoga Nidra scripts that you can use on day 1 which will also guide you to making your own scripts

  • How to lead a group in Yoga Nidra to:

    • Build energy

    • Support difficult emotions like anxiety and depression

  • How to do powerful one-on-one Yoga Nidra sessions

A group of meditators benefits the world in vast ways, bringing magnificence into the world like expanding ripples in a pond.

The Challenge:

Meditate every day during the month of September for 15 minutes or more. That’s it. Meditate at a time and place that works best for you. You can use a guided meditation or do any other style of meditation you prefer.

We’ll be using a great meditation timer app called Insight Timer. This app has a great meditation timer as well as more than 10,000 guided meditations to choose to enhance your meditation practice. It also allows us to encourage each other through a group forum special to this group.

All month I’ll send you support via emails with encouragement and instruction.

We will begin at 9 am on Saturday, September 7, 2019 and end at 4pm on Sunday, September 8. On-site lodging, a light breakfast, and 1 catered, vegetarian dinner will be provided.

Our busy lives often keep us from taking the time to be with ourselves in a very nourishing, gentle way so that we might deeply rest and see clearly how we might engage in our lives more skillfully and lovingly. Our intention for this retreat is to offer each participant a supportive environment in which to safely experience extended periods of silence and mindfulness practice.  We will follow a more traditional retreat schedule of alternating sitting and walking meditation. In addition, we will offer restorative yoga, body scan, and yoga nidra sessions throughout the weekend.  We will offer some guidance throughout as well as readings from our teachers to support our  practice together.  Silence will be strictly (and lovingly) maintained throughout the retreat.

We can even do some yoga in the inimitable Tuileries Gardens.

These few days are outside of the tuition of the retreat but could act as a marvelous prelude for anybody who would interested in falling in love with one of the most beautiful cities in the world. .

I want to host you on a beautiful Fall tour of San Francisco's finest yoga teachers and studios, restaurants, and vineyards. This is going to be a tour to remember! I’ve done this tour 3 times already and it gets better every time.

This yoga tour will expose you to some truly exceptional yoga teachers to take your practice to a new level. We'll get to practice with some of SF's best, such as Janet Stone, Sean Haleen, Jason Crandell, Stephanie Snyder, and others. We’ll also go to the Integral Yoga Institute founded by Swami Satchidananda for a special Yoga Nidra practice.

This will be held at a beautiful residence nestled into the granite majesty of the Uinta mountains, just a half mile up Little Cottonwood Canyon.

At this special event, we will have a discussion/lecture about the nature of our perceived reality and how Yoga Nidra helps us to wake into a truer vision of reality. We will move and change our bodies through gentle yoga poses to become receptive to our deeper and True Nature. Then, we’ll experience some specialized breathing techniques to harmonize our energy. Finally we will enter into a profound and relaxing Yoga Nidra practice which is specific to this concept of the Trinity and which will take you into deeper relaxation as the portal into understanding some of the mysteries of the cosmos.

This evening of Yoga Nidra will be deeper and more specialized than a class at the studio.

After we will have a Q&A.

You will receive an audio recording copy of the lecture, the movement and breathing practice, as well as the Yoga Nidra recording itself to continue plumbing the depths of your True Nature and expand your experience of your felt sense of Awareness.

Let’s face it, there are only so many yoga poses and most every teacher teaches the same poses, often in the same way. But organizing your poses is like composing music: there are only so many notes and it’s how you place the notes and in what context that makes the difference between nails on the chalkboard vs. a breathtaking symphony. The difference between an average teacher and a master teacher isn’t the poses they choose, but the order, information, and purpose of the poses.

Come and learn how to organize what you already know into masterful teaching. In this teachers workshop, you’ll learn about the subtleties of skillfully crafting a flowing, intelligent, and purposeful class that helps your students get into a flow state, mentally and physically. You’ll learn how to artfully organize each poses, leading you to a specific peak experience as well as how to deliver your class as a presentation, in a way that resonates with your students and keeps them coming back for more.

Plus, teaching yoga is about connecting with your students. Hands-on assists and adjust is one of the best ways to connect to your students and one of the things that designates excellent from average teachers. Most students loooove a good adjust or assist, so let’s learn to do it safely, respectfully, and in a way that takes your students to the next level.

I’ve been teaching for almost 20 years plus I just spent 75 hours learning volumes about these subjects with world-renowned teachers and I’d love to offer you some of the richest jewels of what I’ve learned through training and experience. Relax and recede to a deep inner-sanctuary as you rejuvenate your body, mind, and spirit through Restore Yoga and Yoga Nidra (guided meditation). Yoga is the stilling of the mind into oneness. Expect gentle mobility to gather prana, long, slow, deep stretches to release tension, and several relaxing Restore poses for deep, abiding calm. In an extended savasana, Scott will  guide you through a 30-minute, mind-opening Yoga Nidra practice. The workshop will be accompanied with poetry, stories, and  live music. Plus, you will receive a recording of our Yoga Nidra. session.continue practicing at home. You’ll leave this workshop feeling alert,  rested, and expansive.

20-Hour Yoga Nidra Intensive

The world desperately needs more Yoga Nidra and more qualified Yoga Nidra instructors. Practicing Yoga Nidra is easy but teaching it effectively can be complex. I’d love to share my knowledge of teaching Yoga Nidra with you. 

This 20-hour Yoga Nidra intensive is designed to deepen your knowledge of Self through Yoga Nidra as you learn to guide yourself and others through effective and varied Yoga Nidra practices. This intensive is perfect both for teachers or students who simply want to deepen their practice of Yoga Nidra.

This intensive will be available in person as well as virtually through an online meeting platform.

Upon completion of this immersion you’ll receive:

  • A deeper understanding of Self through Yoga Nidra
  • A weekend profound relaxation

Join me in a meditation challenge, a group that will meditate every day for 30 days, starting September 1. This challenge will benefit you personally and will make the world a better place. 

The Challenge:

Starting September 1, you will meditate every day, for 30 days, for 15 minutes or more each day. That's it! You can choose whatever style of meditation you'd like. You can meditate at any time you want—it doesn't have to be at the same time as anyone else. If you already have a meditation practice great. If not, I'll give you plenty of resources to help you choose a meditation that you feel will work for you. I'll even send you regular emails with recordings of guided meditations you can listen to and tutorials about meditation.
