Bursts Of Fun: Live Yoga Nidra Trainings and More

Hello!

I hope your week is going superbly, that you’re taking the opportunity, at least once in a while, to pause and be present with and soak in this world’s beauties as well as its complexities.

Our family has enjoyed being in the States for the past 10 days. We had bursts of fun spending the 4th of July with family—grilling, playing cornhole, and watching the little one’s chase docile fireflies as a prelude to bombastic fireworks.

It’s been about a year since I’ve been in the US and it’s truly enlived my spirit to be back in the beautiful mountain and desert landscapes of Utah. It’s warmed my heart to reconnect with family, friends, and students again. The landscape and oceans of Nice are unique and breathtaking but it’s refreshing to get a change of scenery, back into the expansiveness of the American West which will always feel like home and which holds its own mystique.

Thank you to everyone who has come to the live classes I’ve taught in Salt Lake City. It’s been a dream come true to teach classes in Salt Lake City again. In the next several weeks, I hope to connect with you at either a live or online class or training.

There’s a lot that’s going on in the next several weeks and I don’t want you to miss out so I’m going to give you a quick rundown of the schedule of what’s coming up, namely:

  • Live, in-person Yoga classes

  • Live Yoga Nidra classes

  • An must-have Email Marketing training

  • 2 in-person Yoga Nidra trainings, one in Hong Kong and the other in Utah

  • And the yoga retreat in Tuscany which I’m co-leading in October.

  • Mentorships with me and in particular one of my mentor students who specialized in retreats for women entrepreneurs who are searching for balance in their lives

Live In-Person Yoga Classes

If you’re in SLC, I’d really, really love to see you at a live class. I’m very pleased to be teaching some live classes at Mosaic Yoga. If you’re in SLC and have never been there, it can be just a little tricky to find. It’s at 1991 South 1100 East, Salt Lake City to the North side and behind Best Friends Animal Adoption, in the alley way there called Sugarhouse Alley.

Here are the classes which are happening THIS Friday morning, July 14th:

  • Power Hour 6–7 am: An all-levels hour of wake-up yoga with an easy warm-up including Sun Salutations and full-body mobilizations, followed by standing, balance, and grounding poses.

  • Mindfulness 7:15–8:15 am: This is an opportunity to sit and meditate with a group of other mindfulness practitioners in a welcoming environment. It’s perfect whether you are a new or experienced meditator.

  • Power 1 8:45–10 am: This 75-minute class weaves a spiritual or conscious theme into a Wanderlust format of poses which alternate between short flowing and static sequences to arrive at a therapeutic, cohesive, and well-rounded yoga experience. This class will feature warmups, sun salutations, standing poses, approachable standing and arm balances, core work, hips, and a solid cool down and savasana. I’ll be bringing the clarinet!

On the 28th, I’ll be teaching a Power Hour class at 12 pm

In August I’ll be teaching some Live Yoga Nidra classes on Wednesday nights at Mosaic Yoga. The dates for these classes will be August 16, and 30.

All Mosaic classes are by donation. I accept cash, Venmo, or original, signed, and authenticated copies of John Coltrane’s 1957 album Blue Train. Thank you.

Live Yoga Nidra Classes

So, I’ve been teaching a live, online Yoga Nidra class via Zoom each Sunday at 9 am MDT for a few years now and it has organically grown a loving, nurturing, and very HUMAN community of regular practitioners. We all agree that YOU would be a wonderful addition to this group of welcoming and conscious practitioners.

Each week we explore that fascinating Both/And relationship between our perfect beingness and our perfectly broken humanness through the practice of Yoga Nidra. These classes are devoted to resourcing our consciousness and exploring how to live a more consciously, full of presence, purpose, and passion.

You are welcome to join by registering on my website and purchasing a drop-in, class pass, or enrolling in a monthly subscription which renews automatically so you never miss a session. As a subscribing member you also get access to literally hundreds of previous classes all with a different application for Yoga Nidra.

Wednesday Night Yoga Nidra is BACK!

I’m adding a second live, online Yoga Nidra class to the roster. This class will be on Wednesday nights from 6:30–7:45 pm. This second Yoga Nidra class starts THIS Wednesday, July 12th.

I’ll continue both the Sunday and Wednesday live, online Yoga Nidra classes in August but will be adding an in-person option on Wednesdays August 16, and 30 so mark your calendars for those. You can join class either live and online or in person. Either way, you’ll still get the recorded audio/video replay.

Email Marketing Course

I’m hosting a 4-hour online course on using email to help spread your message around the world so that you can send YOUR message around the world and make a big impact while also making a great living doing what you love.

Certainly the most powerful method of sharing my message of connection, depth, purpose, and joy, especially as it relates to yoga and meditation, has been through sending emails.

Whether you’re a yoga/mindfulness teacher, coach, therapist, energy worker, or conscious entrepreneur, I’d love to teach you how to master this skill of effective emails. It’s going to be cool!

This goes down Saturday, July 22nd from 8 am to 12 pm MDT. This will be live and online via Zoom and will be recorded for replay whether or not you can attend live.

Some of the topics we’ll explore:

  • Why emails are 40x more effective for marketing than social media

  • How to build your email list

  • How to create an endless supply of topics

  • Why you don’t need to be a good writer to send great emails

  • How to write simple, engaging content

  • The power of storytelling

  • Automated emails to simplify your life and effectively onboard your clients to gain their trust

  • Analyzing the data: open rates, click rates, and A-B testing

I’m going to distill down the essentials of more than 15 years of experience for you in this essential 4-hour training.

This is a must-attend event!

30-Hour In-Person Yoga Nidra Teacher Trainings in August

I’m really thrilled to be going back to Honk Kong to teach a Yoga Nidra training at the Yoga Room August 4–7. There’s still time to register for this but please do so ASAP.

Then, I’ll be returning back to Salt Lake City for a live training, August 17–20th.

This training is designed for yoga and meditation teachers, coaches, and parents who wish to deepen their relationship with Yoga Nidra and learn the tools, roadmaps, and principles to become an expert Yoga Nidra facilitator and make a positive impact on others.

We will first deepen your own personal relationship to this fascinating and deep and accessible practice by exploring what Yoga Nidra is, how it works, and how it offers such a transformational effect on students. We will do this through pranayama, mindfulness practices, and discussion yogic philosophy, myths, science, and psychology, and of course by practicing Yoga Nidra.

Then we will explore how to master the principles of the Yoga Nidra to meet the specific needs of your students with this practice. I will share with you over 100 pages of my carefully crafted Yoga Nidra scripts that you can learn from and adapt in order to create your own scripts to be uncommonly effective to meet the specific needs of your students.

You will learn to master the tools of facilitating Yoga Nidra such as:

  • Using The Yoga Nidra Roadmap

  • Understanding and using the Koshas as a guide and tool

  • Learning the art of welcoming, recognizing, and witnessing (sometimes responding)

  • Your voice as a tool

  • Using relaxation as a tool

  • Mastering visualizations

  • Leveraging a Sankalpa to ally with Source to co-create what you need and desire

  • How to create a learning environment and safe container for the practice

  • How Yoga Nidra creates lasting calm, expanded perspective, and improves sleep

We will also practice teaching and building Yoga Nidra classes together so you can become familiar with how to create your own scripts based on the needs of your students.

Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of completion and be ready to teach Yoga Nidra!

Yoga Retreat in Tuscany

There’s still time to register for this life-changing yoga retreat in Tuscany with me and my good friend and amazing teacher, Kim Dastrup. I LOVE Italy and I’d love to share this slice of paradise with you.

October 14–21, 2023

Immerse your body, mind, and spirit in the heart of Italian culture. The retreat will be held at Locanda Cugnanello, a beautifully-restored and tranquil villa in the heart of Tuscany. For 7 days, you'll enjoy daily all-levels yoga and meditation classes, delicious homemade meals prepared by our expert chef, lounging by the pool, excursions to Siena and San Gimignano, wine tasting, cooking classes, and more.

Plus, I’ve just added a 3-day walking tour and pre-treat in Florence for anyone who wants to dive deep into the heart of the Renaissance and explore the place where history, spirit, and art unite.

Since the villa hosting our retreat is so close to Florence, we figured it would be a real treat to show you around one of the world’s truly most beautiful, historic, and flavorful cities in the world and let you feel the beating heart of the Renaissance still very much alive today.

So, we have decided to offer a 3-day optional, personally guided “pre-treat” in Florence where we can see the actual The Birth of Venus by Botticelli, The David statue by Michelangelo (a perfect sculpture), Inventions by Leonardo Da Vinci and Galeleo, not to mention the famous Duomo, the breathtaking and inimitable dome of the Cathedral of Florence where you can climb to the top and get up close and personal to the art painted on the ceiling suspended 375 feet from the ground.

We’ve both been to Florence several times, and have acquired a few favorites: best gelato, best paper and book store, best leather store, best pizza, best restaurant, best Italian hot chocolate (or cocktails—home of the Negroni), best espresso. You’ll see the Uffizi (Italy’s Louvre), ogle Michelangelos and Botticellis and stroll along cobblestone streets of this must-see city.

Mentorships

Speaking of retreats, one of the many great things I love to do in my job is to mentor others about how to turn their intangible gifts into something tangible that they send out to the world to make a great impact while also making a great living doing what they love. I’m really proud of all my mentor students. Together we work on the projects that take them to the next level in their teaching or business.

The reason I bring this up is because one of my mentor students is a powerful lawyer and Yoga Nidra facilitator who is transitioning away from her law practice to focus on her role as a guide for other female entrepreneurs and professionals to live a more balanced life through Yoga Nidra, yoga, and pranayama. As part of our mentorship together, she has created some incredible retreats in Mallorca, Spain this September and December which are designed to give women the space, support, and inspiration they need to relax, recharge, and reconnect with their deepest aspirations as well as strategizing to conquer the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in the next year.

I told her that if she finished her project that I’d send a blast out to all my students so here it is. Take a look and jump on it.

By the way, I have just graduated 2 mentors which gives me two spots available. If you are interested in taking your teaching or business to the next level (even and especially if it’s currently at level 0) reach out and let’s set up a no-pressure Zoom chat to discuss how a Mentor Program might serve you to reach the kind of students and clients who are waiting to receive what only you can share.
